Short bio info for Duane Caldwell…. AKA Buzzardjaws
I live in Bluefield WV, am married and have 3 daughters. I have been using a metal detector since about 1974. I found my first CW relics at the age of 16 back in 1969 without a detector. I used the old “eyeball” method. Over the years, I started out as primarily a coin hunter, with some water, underwater, and beach hunting and relic hunting thrown in, as well as bottle digging. I have been collecting Indian artifacts since I was about 6 years old. Over the past several years, I have evolved into primarily a relic hunter, but I’ll still get out to search an old yard if the opportunity arises. My first Depot hunt was at Brandy Station VA, and I have lost count of how many hunts I have attended since that one. I haven’t missed very many. That first hunt I was on Team Shadow, and we placed second. Since then I have been on team Minelab, and I have also had several second place wins on that team. This will be my first time on Bounty Hunter, using the new T2, and I hope for this to be my first time for our team to take first place. I have been very fortunate to make some great individual finds on the Depot hunts though. I had a #6 best overall find at Fort P with a Lined Block “A” button, a second place find with the Confederate Read Shell in the photo, and what I consider to be the best find made at Fort P with the 1861 Remington Revolver, still loaded. That find was made during a GRD hunt, so there was no “prize” for any of the finds made. I am looking forward to the opportunity to possible make another great find..!!
