Hello, my name is Wilson Smith and I live on a farm near Millen , Georgia . Sherman and Company came right through the middle of the farm on his way to Savannah . I started metal detecting in 1974. Like most, I hunted coins. My first civil relic was an “R” button found on the farm. Took me two years to find out what it was. On the farm I have found a few of the following: Conn. , N. Y. Militia, unusual eagles, “R”, GMI, S. C., Texas (Miss?), six pound cannonball, etc. Never found a plate.
I lost my precious wife in a plane crash September 1, 1998 . My daughter and her family live in Augusta , Ga. I try to see her, and especially the grandchildren, at least weekly.
I look forward to seeing all of you in January. O yes, I presently use a CZ3D and Edge. For you trivia experts: I was a navy pilot and, and at one time, flew the world’s largest (longest) aircraft. What was it?
